Reports of forcible rapes increased 28% in the last five years in Vermont (Vermont Crime Report, 2005, 2001).

From 2001 to 2004, 4,131 sexual offenses (other than forcible rape) were reported to Vermont law enforcement officials (Vermont Crime Report, 2005).

In 2002, Fletcher Allen Health Care performed 47 sexual assault exams. UVM Health Services performed 7 sexual assault exams.
